I think she thinks I am another chicken, and we just scratch in the dirt together, looking for something to eat. This is Sparkle, and is always beside me when I work in the garden - she does have it figured out, and there is lots for her to eat.

Big helper!
Sunday, 7 June 2026
The chickens ready for bed. The three "babies" (they are over a year old now, but the youngest ones) still stick together at night. I think their wings are like that because it is hot (all of the other chickens are like that too).

May 2026 home photo (roofing in progress).
Monday, 25 May 2026
This is the first time I have removed shingles (not the first time putting shingles on), and these tear off spades work great. The fact I had three scary dreams about sliding down the roof last night, might have made me overly cautious on the roof today, but we got lots done.
Sunday, 24 May 2026
The start of a new project - roofing! The shingles on the south side were in really rough shape compared to the ones in the photo on the north side.
