There are no birds in the house, but Maggie had to check.

Meanwhile Molly had to sniff in every footprint left in the snow by a fox or coyote .

Morning walk - what a difference a day makes.
 

First snowfall of the season - about noon,

about 6pm.

 Miss Maggie watching the aquarium channel on tv (the weather is colder and she is inside more).

 Morning walks are so lovely in the fall.

 Good day for weaving.

 The gardens are all ready for winter.

There were lots of Snow Geese (the white and the blue types) in the field around our house, and while we were out for our morning walk more geese came in.

While we were watching the geese Molly was waiting for someone to throw her ball.

Turned out to be a good day to be outside - still warm temperatures.
 

 The last of the fall bounty being processed - honey and garlic fermenting, and the start of hot sauce fermenting too (cayenne peppers, red jalapeño peppers, onions and garlic).

 The field across the street was being sprayed early this morning. The geese and a few ducks just kept moving around.

 Garlic planting day.

 Still lots of geese around (Snow Geese and Canada Geese).

 Miss Maggie keeping me company while working in the garden.

 So many animal holes to explore.

 First frost of the season. I don't ever remember having such a long period with above zero temperatures - the last frost was in May (usually we have frost in June and then September).

 

The weather is getting colder, so Maggie is enjoying the warmth of the sun.

 The geese taking off from the field across the road this morning was incredible - so many, and very noisy.  Mainly Canada Geese but some Snow Geese in there too.

 Molly jumped up and broke the branch Maggie had been sitting on.

 Molly was scared by the geese decoys this morning (she was involved when they were put out yesterday, and scared by them a few times yesterday too).

 Started sewing blocks together for a quilt that has been in the works for over 8 years (EPP hexagons).

 The sky was full of geese on our way home.

 Our big girl is 4 today!

 A laid a piece of fabric on the floor and look who had to come and lay on it.
