The Canna Lilies have started blooming! 

 Fall colours have started.

 We thought we could go for a walk before this came our way - no, we were soaked.

 A big storm all last night - 3.5" of rain, lightning, hail and hight winds.

I was interrupted while trimming celery from the garden - GingerSnap! needed a head scratch.

 So many birds down the road (we rarely see birds on the wires).

 The only photo I took today was a progress shot for Ravelry of a sweater I am knitting from yarn I spun during TdF last month (a Ranunculus knitted with a strand of commercial mohair/silk yarn).

 I heard a noise up in the tree and assumed it was a bird - no it was GingerSnap!!

 Sunrise - storms around, lots of thunder, but only a few drops of rain here.

 The field (canola this year) that we live in the corner was sprayed today - incredible to watch, crop duster pilots are something else.

 Today I washed a fleece I have had in the garage for a while - so it is about time! This is the first soak. The plan is this winter I will comb, dye, blend and spin for a sweater.

 Sitting and knitting while I watch the little chicks free range - they stick close to home.

 Happy National Cat Day! This is about as good as it gets with these two - Miss Maggie tolerates GingerSnap! when they are waiting to be fed (he just wants to smell her and she wants nothing to do with him).

 30ºC outside, definitely much hotter in the sun room, but here they are sound asleep (maybe the stucco is cool).

 Some much needed rain came our way today.

 A little storm whipped up today, and suddenly there were so many Barn Swallows flying into the windows, and sitting in the trees, and all along the top of the windows (you can see the tails) - it was very exciting for GingerSnap!.

 Molly waiting for a ride (she had a few today - just around the yard, her favourite), GingerSnap! joined her for a few minutes.

 My old bike, that I painted and wired an old hanging basket to (my son brought so many flowers home I had to get creative), surrounded by tall yellow sweet clover.
