It's always nice when something works well - binding a t-shirt dress.

There goes the Google Maps car! There is only one street view for here on Google Maps, and it is dated June 2014. It looks much different than now. Not the best photo - maybe that is my new theme!

Monday, 27 April 2026

Start of a new project - more tea towels (yesterday's dress is finished).

Sunday, 26 April 2026

Live stream sew along today with Tailor Academy. Almost seven hours sewing a dress, I still have to sew buttonholes, buttons and some belt loops. It was lots of fun, and I learned a lot - first time sewing a collar. There was about 1000 people sewing along, from all over the world (luckily it was a good time of the day for me, for the instructors it was the middle of the night in Austria).

Another hard to see photo, but there is an Eagle in the distance flying away, between the trees.

Molly and Miss Maggie enjoying another beautiful, warm day (only small areas of snow left).

Wednesday, 22 April 2026

This sight greeted me when I went outside - Molly waiting for her ball to be thrown, the trouble is she leaves it somewhere and we have to find it!

Tuesday, 21 April 2026

Someone came to tell me she felt it was lunchtime while I was transplanting seedlings - she was 45 minutes early but waited there as patiently as she could until noon.

Monday, 20 April 2026

Miss Maggie was running away from the chickens, hissing as she went. Two of the young, curious, hens had already run up to her, and she didn't like it.

Still lots of snow around,

but things are starting to grow!

The end of a two week theme - hobbies! This one another long term project - tatting.

Tuesday, 14 April 2026

Another row sewn on an English paper piecing project (this is a long term hand sewing project).

Four rows of blocks sewn at quilt group sewing day today! Maybe I will be finished this quilt before the end of the year! I work on it once a month.

Saturday, 11 April 2026

Different kind of sewing today - making a summer dress with the fabric I snow dyed last week.

Friday, 10 April 2026

I patched holes in pockets in a couple pairs on my son's work pants. I was grateful that vintage sewing machines have small free arms to get the job done.

Thursday, 9 April 2026

Stained glass day today - I have been wanting to make a piece with a Mackintosh rose for a while (this piece is inspired by lots of pieces I have seen online, using supplies I have. I am trying to use up what I have).

Wednesday, 8 April 2026

Today I planted up all the garden plants I had put into storage for the winter - Canna Lilies, Geraniums, and Sweet Potato Vine. This is the first time I have tried this, and I am hoping for the best. Gardening season is well underway...

... hard to imagine because we woke up to this!

The first five of what will be 60 small paintings for this year - they are lots of fun, but I am limiting myself to no more than two a week to make the project last all year long. They are about 2" x 3".

Monday, 6 April 2026

Today I organized quilt blocks ready to sew together. This is a project I only work on at a monthly get together, and I have been sewing blocks for over two years, it won't be finished any time soon which is fine with me. 5" Broken Dishes blocks.

My take along knitting project (car knitting) - a Musselburgh Hat, out of handspun yarn that has been a few other things.

Friday, 3 April 2026

I haven't finished my year long cross stitch project yet, but I am working on this one too.

Thursday, 2 April 2026

Working on my third Ranunculus sweater (such a good, versatile pattern), this one out of hand dyed, hand spun Optim Merino that feels just like soft cotton.

Frost and ice on the flooded yard. This ends the week of close up pictures. There has been a week of sunrises, and one of GingerSnap!, what's next?
